Harald Zur Hausen is a German scientist who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2008 for discovering that the human papilloma virus (HPV) is the principal cause of cervical cancer. The vaccine he developed to prevent HPV has been in use for over a decade. As a strong proponent of healthy living, Mr. zur Hausen will deliver the Keynote speech of the 8th International Conference of Young Scientists and GYA Annual General Meeting on 10 May 2018, the theme of which is ‘Forever Young? Sustainable and healthy longevity through science and technology’. The meeting will take place in Pattaya, Thailand from 7 to 11 May 2018.
